Dorking SOS are a large group of local residents who were initially formed to oppose a major new supermarket in the heart of our town in around 2006. The plans have now expanded to building multiple supermarkets in the town!
We come from all walks of life and may have different reasons for or ideas on how to improve the town centre, but all of us are united in our opposition to the notion of building a large supermarket in or close to the historic centre of Dorking.
We are not affiliated with any organisation, political or otherwise. Our more active members meet and exchange information regularly, devoting what time they can afford into areas such as research, publicity and meeting prominent council representatives.
We are open to all those who oppose the plans, and encourage you to register with us. We will send you occasional newsletters, and information on both our progress with promoting our ideas for the future of the town, as well as any news to the lingering prospect of a new supermarket in Dorking, and how to oppose it.
If you would like to get more involved and join our group of active members please contact Rob Sedgwick on 01306 889405 or rob@dorkingsos.org.uk.
